Easter

We still do a big kid Easter Egg hunt. Some of the plastic eggs are filled with money. One egg, the prize egg, is filled with a $5 bill. Guess who found the prize egg?!

This is an accurate description of our relationship. Notice how I am the innocent victim :)

How cool is that can of potato chips?! It was part of my Easter goodies.

My Easter basket! This year the Easter Bunny remembered I liked peeps. Last year the Easter Bunny forgot. Also in my basket was fun dip, sixlets, twizzlers (the pull and peel kind), normal Cadbury creme eggs, and Cadbury caramel eggs!

The best part of my Easter basket? A bag of black jelly beans!

Here are two of my favorite Easter memories as a child.
One year on my Uncle Tommy's way to Hartselle he stopped in Tunica for some gambling and to play the slot machines. Now I don't believe in gambling only because I believe in spending money on actual items, i.e. shopping. Anyways, he played the slot machines a lot that trip and showed up to my Grandparent's house with lots and lots and lots of coins. He didn't want all those coins. I don't why he didn't just roll them and cash them in. So that year in an effort to get rid of all of his change he filled up lots and lots and lots of plastic eggs with money. We had lots and lots and lots of Easter egg hunts that year until the money was gone.
When I was little my dad spend two and a half years stationed in Germany while serving the Army. He missed out on lots of holidays. One year he missed out on Easter. That year I got a big basket full of candy for Easter. We went to my Grandparent's house for an Easter egg hunt and to gets lots of candy. When my mom and I got home I went to my room to play and mom started to clean the house. Now since I was a well behaved child mom didn't worry about me in my room and rarely checked on me. That wasn't a good idea. I guess I got hungry, or maybe I just wanted candy. Either way I began to eat candy from my basket, and I kept eating and eating and eating until it was all gone. Mom didn't notice this. We ate dinner and I went to bed. However around 10:00 I woke up with a bad tummy ache. Go figure! Mom asked me what I had eaten that day. I told her candy. A mommy bell must of gone off in her head and she checked my now empty Easter basket. She had no clue that I had ate all of my candy in one night! She gave me some Tylenol, this was when it still had alcohol in it, and sent me to bed.
I hope everyone had a great Easter!

I LOVE everything about this post! I am especially glad to see pictures of you and your sister, and you and your mom. I love the idea of an adult or "big kids" Easter egg hunt! :)
