If I won the lottery...

I didn't buy a lotto ticket last week. I thought about it. I might be close to the TN state line, but gas is expensive. I did however think about what I would do with all that money. After taxes were taken out I would...

give 1/3 of it away. I would give some to Asbury (my church). I would give a lot to children's charities. This week our mission prayer partner at church is the United Methodist Children's Home. I would give money to help children who have been the victims of abuse and neglect. I would give money to CAJA of Madison county (which is like CASA nationally). Children are the future of our world. I would give some to my mom to pay off debts and what not. I would buy Becca a new car, because hers won't be making it much longer. I would give money to friends to pay off student loan debt. Well, as long as they promise to pay it forward and make a difference in someone else's life.

save 1/3 of the money. Well, I guess I should invest some of it. Rachel, would you like to be my financial advisor?

spend 1/3 of it. I would build myself a house. Nothing big and fancy. Just a simple 3-4 bedroom two story brick house. I want a fenced in back yard for Bella. A yard would also mean finding someone to mow the yard. I am not a fan of yard work. I would buy some new furniture, but I wouldn't get rid of what I have. I would just need some more. I would buy myself a kitchen-aid mixer. I would also trade in Camy the Camry for a new 4-runner.

At least I have a plan for when I strike it rich :)

Haha, I'd love to be your financial advisor. It sounds like you're on your way...Susie Orman was actually on the Today Show talking about how the most important thing is to decide before how you will spend the money. Then, you won't be making decisions emotionally.

P.S. Brad and I both put $10 in a pool of 25 people. 250 tickets total.....we didn't win anything. Sad.
