Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

new year's resolutions
I like to make new year's resolutions. I try to set realistic goals, and I don't put pressure on myself to achieve said goals. My main goal/resolution is to stick to my budget. I recently created a budget which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I tried to over budget for things and give myself money to pay off debt, money to save, and money to give to church and charities. I am really excited about it. I think the biggest challenge for me will be keeping track of my spending so I can stay within my budget. A constant goal is to keep a clean and tidy house. I also want my apartment to be more organized. Pinterest has been a great resource for both. I also want to make my own laundry detergent. I found a recipe, but it was a day after I bought a new bottle of tide so I am going to wait until that is almost gone. I found a recipe for body wash that I might try out. I also want to be more crafty. I want to sew more and crochet more. I have a pattern for a cute skirt that I am hoping to figure out soon. I can't wait for warmer spring weather to wear a skirt in. I don't like wearing pants. I would wear skirts and dresses every day if I could which is why I dislike cold weather so much. Since we have recess everyday I have to dress for the weather so skirts and dresses are limited in cold weather. I want to learn how to crochet in a pattern not just a straight, simple stitch. I want to cook more and use my crock pot more. I used to make desserts quite often to carry to school to share. I haven't done that in a long time. I have been too tired. So I would like to bring that back. Plus I have pinned some really good looking desserts. I often don't feel as mature as I should. I think it comes from spending so much time around little kids. I notice it a lot when I am reunited with my friends from college. For instance, one year I set the goal of wearing lipstick more. I try really hard to put some lipstick or lip gloss when going out somewhere. Well, anywhere but school. I once wore lipstick on picture day and had all kinds of questions. I try to dress up a bit when hanging out with friends and look more like an adult. So this year I am adding earrings to my look like an adult list. I wear my pearls a lot, and living in the south it is completely appropriate to wear pearls all the time. However, I would like to start wearing other earrings with my outfits. This also means I am on the look out for cute earrings. I haven't bought a lot of earrings over the past couple of years so there is always some sticker shock when I see how much earrings cost now days. I also plan to continue with my whole "no heels" life goal. My cute gold flats were delivered in time for the NYE wedding. They were cute and comfortable. I also want to read more, because reading makes me happy :)
